On August 2, Prof. Bawoen Li at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) gave a seminar on a new application of thermal diode: application in solid state cooling via an example of elastocaloric cooling.

Prof. Baowen Li is a pioneer in micro and nano scale heat conduction and has invented innovative technologies, such as thermal diode and thermal transistor. He has published over 400 research papers, including 3 in Review of Modern Physics and 30 in Phys. Rev. Lett.
